Police are social media savvy

SOCIAL MEDIA: Toni Such opens the Policia Local Facebook page Photo credit: Alfaz town hall

ALFAZ’S Policía Local recently opened three social media accounts.
The force hopes that this will improve communications with the local population, by being able to approach more people in a way that is “direct, close to hand and immediate,” said Public Safety councillor, Toni Such.
There is a Facebook page (Policia Local L’Alfas del Pi) a Twitter account (@local_pi) and Instagram (policia_alfas) that will bring the work carried out by the Policia Local closer to residents, while providing information and advice on matters of interest.
“The social media today are very useful for reaching the young,” Such stressed.
“It also gives visibility to the great work that the police officers are carrying out,” he added.
Content will be adapted to the particular needs of the moment, Such explained, ranging from alerts, operations and guidance on safety as well as information regarding closed roads or electricity cuts.
