CORONAVIRUS: Death toll rises while hospital admission drops in Alicante province.
A NURSE from Son Espases hospital has been selected as a finalist for this year’s Nursing in Development Awards. Juan Carlos Berdeal Narciso has been chosen for the ‘Perceived Quality’ category, which rewards initiatives that improve patient’s perceptions about the care that they receive as well as health results in the community. In a project to improve the quality of care provided in the neonatal ICU, Narciso implemented a series of measures where humanisation, innovation and research increased patient satisfaction. In collaboration with the Nursing Union (SATSE), the awards are a recognition of the contribution by nurses and physiotherapists, which encourages health-care professionals to continuously improve their work. Among the 274 nominations submitted, fourteen finalists were chosen by the jury. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony held in Madrid on November 28.
