The Diputación's 1.9 million euro Axarquia investment

THE Diputación de Málaga has approved the proposal of €1.9 million worth of projects designed to improve the facilities on the region.
The Governing Board of the Diputación de Málaga has approved the projects which cover 11 municipalities in the province and focused on the towns that have less than 20,000 residents.
The total investment is funded by the provincial institution within the Plan of Assistance and Cooperation and will aim to provide improvements to the towns streets and access and the remodelling of municipal swimming pools.
One of the largest beneficiaries is La Vinuela which will receive a total of €499,353 to improve the southern access to the area. Works have already begun on improving the road and infrastructure but the investment will ensure that the third and fourth stages are able to be completed.
Riogordo will receive €320,380 to refurbish their swimming pool whilst Torrox will get €269,252 to retake the El Peñoncillo area of the N-340.
Other municipalities that look forward to improvement projects are Sayalonga, Periana, Alcaucin and Molino Barco.
Outside of Axarquia, Antequera has been approved to continue the works in Sierra de Yeguas, for the development of the fifth and sixth phase of urbanization and paving of the Avenida Fuente de Piedra.
