Ancient olive tree finds new home in Benalmadena

NEW HOME: Olive tree now in place Credit: Ayuntamiento de Benalmadena

AN olive tree which is 16 metres tall and is believed to be between 600 and 800 years old has now been planted on a roundabout on the Avenida Las Palmeras.

Situated opposite the local Racket club, this is one of the largest and most emblematic of the roundabouts in the town and will therefore be an attractive welcome to visitors to the area.

It is hoped that the addition of the attractive tree will enhance the beauty of the area and bring a positive response from residents.

Now that the tree is in place, the council is considering that the sculpture located in the same area may now be out of place and could possibly be relocated to a more suitable home in La Paloma Park.
