THE CEIP La Parra de Almáchar has been selected to join the Decálogo Malagueño de Diversidad Familiar en Educación (Malagueño Decalogue of Family Diversity in Education).

The presentation was held today at the IES Vicente Espinel de Málaga to announce the final inductees.

The scheme aims to reward educational facilities that promote a diverse family structure and portray differences and diversity as the norm.

“The aim of this initiative is to make all sectors of Malaga’s educational centres aware of the importance of making family diversity visible” explained Don Jesus Luis Anés Vela, Head of the Educational Planning Service of the Territorial Delegation of Education.

The CEIP La Parra de Almáchar is one of 21 facilities that have been included in the Decalogue across the Malaga province.

“The competition has been very well received by the Malaga community, having received a multitude of proposals, which makes us feel really satisfied.” Vela continued.

“Working for a more egalitarian society, in which there is no room for discrimination, promoting diversity as a priority value in our classrooms and stimulating the creativity of the participants is one of the main goals.”

Looks like they could have a more diverse and representative staff at the school as the obvious gender imbalance doesn’t reflect society at all.
