A ROMANIAN man has been arrested after he  allegedly pretended to be disabled in order to rob a woman in Malaga.

The 33-year-old is alleged to be the man who faked a disability and approached his victim asking for cash.

When he found out she didn’t have any he intimidated her into going to a cashpoint and withdrawing €20, which she then handed over to him.

The investigation began in September following a complaint about a robbery in the area of the port’s Muelle Uno.

The victim had been approached by a man – who carried a tablet in his hand which had information on its screen saying he was a deaf mute.

After several inquiries, the agents identified, located and arrested the man as the main suspect in the robbery at the end of October.

The arrested person and the police report have been sent to the competent judicial authority.
