UPDATE: Airline Confirms Hijack Alarm Was Triggered Accidently

Amsterdam Schiphol Airport emergency was triggered by pilot accidently setting off hijack alarm, airline says

21:15: Air Europa has just confirmed that an alarm on one of its flights from Amsterdam to Madrid was triggered “by mistake” and “all passengers are safe and sound waiting to fly soon” (20:15 GMT)

The Royal Dutch Military Police have confirmed they are investigating a suspicious situation aboard an aircraft at Schiphol Airport

“There is a suspicious situation and that’s all I can say,” a spokesman for the military police said. He declined to name the airline involved or provide further details.
