Murder conviction overturned in Gibraltar

A LOCAL man of 44 who was convicted of murdering his wife and sentenced to 18 years imprisonment earlier this year has had his appeal upheld.

Judges declined to allow reporting on the reason for deciding that the conviction was unsafe but the Court has called for a retrial of the man whose original defence was that he had acted in self-defence.
