‘No peeking’ squabble in Calpe

AS election day approaches, the Opposition on Calpe council has local mayor Ana Sala in their sights.
Following censure for her criticism of acting president, Pedro Sanchez, the PSOE socialists claimed that public money could have been used to fund last May’s municipal election campaign.
The party suggested this could be why the mayor refused to give access to the town hall bills when the PSOE requested these last September.
Until then these were accessible to councillors from the Town Clerk’s office but since electronic billing was introduced, there is only a virtual registration system.
Sala has continued to refuse to make bills available, claiming that allowing the Opposition to access these would be “excessively general and indiscriminate.”
