Marijuana sales nipped in the bud in Gandia

POLICE arrested eight members of the same family after uncovering four drug sales points in Gandia.

The four men and four women, aged from 19 to 39, are suspected of belonging to a criminal organisation, according to reports.

Police opened an investigation following a number of complaints by local residents about the climate of insecurity in their area and the concern created by the family members’ activities.

Local people were concerned the family were selling drugs from their homes, all of which are located in the same building, reporting the coming and going of large numbers of people.

Raids on the four properties resulted in the seizure of 90 grammes of marijuana bud and, more than €1,200 in cash.
