LEO MULIO ALVAREZ gave a talk at Altea’s Social Centre on “Trans Reality: inclusive families and schools.”
Altea-born psychologist Alvarez, who now lives in Germany, is also Health Officer for Transgender Europe, and the talk was organised by the town hall’s Education department in collaboration with the Parents Associations from all local schools.
Talking beforehand, Education councillor Vicenta Perez explained that the initiative was aimed at raising awareness in teachers and parents of the need to address the question of diversity in their pupils and children.
Perez also drew attention to the important role that was played by schools and parents in encouraging the social inclusion of children and adolescents “in all their different aspects.”
