A SCREENING of documentary My friend Fats Domino in Dutch was all about raising money for the La Nucia Protectora de Animales association.
Some 50 Dutch, Belgian and British local residents went along to the l’Auditori de la Mediterrania to watch the film, which focuses on the friendship between the legendary American pianist and Belgian orchestra director Bobby Setter.
The two entertainers did three European tours together.
Bobby Setter himself presented his documentary before the sceening alongside Foreign Residents’ councillor Jessica Gommans and Protectora de Animales de La Nucia President Belen Nuñez.
The two-hour Dutch language documentary, which debuted at the La Nucia auditorium in 2016, features music, humour and emotion, with commentary by Bobby.
The fundraiser had the backing of La Nucia Foreign Residents department.
