El Campello Mayor greets rising football star

EL Campello Mayor Juanjo Berengue greeted rising local football star Lucia Palomares at the Town Hall earlier this week.
Lucia, 15, plays on the national Sub-17 side, and the young goalkeeper and the council leader discussed her footballing career so far and her goals for the future.
The youngster’s most recent experience with the national Spanish team was at the end of October when the manager Toña Is selected her to train with the side at the Las Rozas Football City in Madrid.
Lucia also talked excitedly about playing in a tournament in Gothenburg in Sweden in September.
The young athlete, who plays with SPCF Plaza de Argel, described the euphoria she felt with the team beat Germany and Sweden 4-0 and the US 4-3.
Lucia is one of six teenagers from the Valencian Community on the Spanish national team.
