Artà Town Hall encourage children to walk to school and the consumption of local produce.
THE governing administration of Artà Town Hall has declared a state of climate emergency in the municipality. A recent council meeting backed a motion for this declaration revealing seventeen points that must be addressed immediately. This includes encouraging children to walk to school and the consumption of ecological produce. Food services will also be provided by the town hall for senior citizens, the municipal theatre and several sports facilities. The town hall will also develop a general plan for environmental sustainability which will include the planting of 1,500 trees in order to mitigate the effects of floods on the ecosystem.
