IT took 50 firefighters 40 hours to extinguish a blaze that destroyed 100 tons of clothing, shoe soles, rubber and plastic on a plot opposite Alicante airport. The clothes were packed into pallets when the fire started on Tuesday last week, and it was not put out until Thursday.
