FIRE PREVENTION: Advice for Montgo residents Photo credit: Javea town hall
Problem or solution JAVEA town hall organised another of its fire prevention talks, this time for Montgo residents. Public Safety and Emergencies councillor Pepa Gisbert provided basic information for preventing hazardous situations, particularly in areas like Montgo where wooded areas overlap with residential zones. The town hall knows from bitter experience and catastrophic fires – the last in September 2016 – that neither the local government nor residents can let their guard down regarding forest fires. Gisbert’s talk also impressed on the Montgo audience that each person plays a part in increasing or reducing fire-risk, reminding them that they can be part of the problem or its solution.
