BENISSA STATION: Closed for Line 9 modernisation Photo credit: Benissa town hall
A walk on the safe side BENISSA town hall received a grant of €121,536 to construct pavements along Avenida de la Estacion. The allocation from the provincial government, the Diputacion, will cover the first phase of the project guaranteeing the safety of both the pedestrians and vehicles that use the road, municipal sources said. The pavements will border the half-kilometre stretch of road that begins at the intersection of Carrer dels Fusters with Avenida de la Estacion, as the town hall is planning a pedestrian route linking the centre of Benissa with the railway station serving the Line 9 train between Benidorm-Alicante. Meanwhile, the route is likely to be finished long before the service is resumed as the line is expected to be closed until 2022 for modernisation.
