TEN Malaga towns will benefit from a near €300,000 fund set up by the Junta de Andalucia regional government to spruce up their street markets.
Alozaina, Velez-Malaga, Alfarnate, Benalmádena, Alora, Nerja, Colmenar, Almáchar, Istán and Alhaurín de la Torre are he towns to get cash, which will be used for various street improvements and advertising campaigns.
The total amount of aid amounts to €273,826.37 for a total of 10 projects that will need to be completed within six months to qualify.
Most of the grants will be used to resurface the market sites, with others earmarked for promotional work, specific advertising campaigns and installation of street furniture.
Velez-Malaga, will receive €43,500 for three different projects: asphalting, remodelling of accesses, plus the acquisition and installation of canopies and pergolas.
Benalmádena, will get €39,500 to be used to carry out asphalting work, remodelling of accesses and to pay for a promotional campaign.
