Police in London have arest a 26-year-old terror suspect at Heathrow on arrival from Turkey.
Counter Terrorism officers said the arrest is Syria-related. Turkey earlier said it was deporting a British Daesh/Islamic State terrorist back to the UK.
Scotland Yard said the was held “on suspicion of preparation of terrorist acts under section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006.”
Turkish authorities have begun to send Islamic State detainees back to their home countries, and the country’s interior ministry said earlier it was deporting one British and seven German fighters on Thursday.
Ankara has said it has hundreds more jihadists in detention, and has accused European countries of unwillingness to take back its citizens who left to join Islamist militants fight mainly in Syria and Iraq.
Around 10,000 Islamic State detainees and tens of thousands of family members remain in camps and prisons in northeastern Syria guarded by the Syrian Kurdish US allies.
