A MAN has died in a traffic accident on the MA-3431 road that connects Muro with Can Picafort. The incident occurred late on Saturday night (November 16), when a driver lost control of a Peugeot 3008, which rolled over several times before crashing into trees near one of the highway’s roundabouts. No other vehicles were reported to be involved. Several units of the Guardia Civil Traffic Group and emergency personnel from SAMU-061 rushed to the scene, finding the man, who was declared dead on arrival, trapped inside the vehicle. The fire brigade from Alcúdia were then called, spending several hours cutting the body out of the car. The MA-3431 road was closed for 2 hours as a result of the accident. Official information from the Guardia Civil has revealed that the cause of the accident was due to “inappropriate speed for the route and adverse weather conditions”. The body has been transferred to the Institute of Legal Medicine in Palma, where an autopsy will be performed. The man has been identified as 47-year-old Antonio Ferriol Arrom, a resident of Inca.
