Altea’s cyclist-friendly tourism ALTEA, officially a cycling-friendly tourist destination, has issued 10 different routes that have the town as a starting point.“The routes are available at the Tourist Info office on the seafront orcan be downloaded from the https://www.visitaltea.es/es/altea-nuevo-destino-de-cicloturismo/webpage, said Tourism councillor Xelo Gonzalez.“The town hall is promoting bicycle-touring as a wide-ranging tourist offer that also helps to extend the tourist season beyond the summer months,” the councillor continued.“Parallel to the regional government’s MTB network, bicycle tourism is becoming increasingly important to the Valencian Community,” she pointed out.This applied equally to amateur cycling fans and the professional racing teams from northern Europe that visit the Costa Blanca for training before the big road races begin in the spring, the councillor said.
