COSTA BLANCA 73 YEAR OLD PENSIONER SUFFERS NASTY FALL CLIMBING FAMOUS SPAIN ROCK

A 73-year-old Costa Blanca pensioner took a nasty fall yesterday afternoon, whilst climbing the famous Peñón de Ifach at Calpe, on the northern Costa Blanca of Spain.

The man suffered serious a shoulder injury and was unable to make his way back to base.
 
Witnesses also in the monumental area of Costa Blanca where walkers attempt the walk to the world famous Peñón de Ifach at Calpe saw the man fall and contacted by mobile phone emergency services.
 
As the emergency services arrived it was decided the injury serious  so the pensioner was air-lifted by helicopter to Benidorm fire station, where he was then taken by ambulance to hospital.
 
Eye witness Linda Wellington from Alicante told The Euro Weekly News ” It was a nasty fall – I don’t think a man of that age should really be attempting that walk although in fairness he looked quite a healthy man for his age”
