Sniper behind bars for shooting passers by in Almeria, Costa Blanca, Spain

A sniper is behind bars awaiting trial for shooting three people from the window of his home in El Quemadero in Almeria earlier this month.

Using a compressed air shotgun, the 25-year-old man known as PPA injured three people.  one seriously, in the Plaza del Quemadero on November 5.

He shot two more people two days later, injuring his victims in the shoulder, arm and back during the attacks.

Police identified him after checking the trajectory of the projectiles and speaking to eyewitnesses. The weapon was said to be very strong and advanced.

The man faces three charges of seriously injuring a person and was placed in preventive detention.
