COSTA BLANCA NEWS – TRANSMITTING A MESSAGE OF OPTIMISM IN ALICANTE

A GALA supporting children with cancer filled the auditorium at Alfaz’s Casa de Cultura in Alicante recently.
The show was put on by pupils from the Veles e Vents school, dancers and singers from the Variance Dance Studio and the local scouts, transmitting messages of optimism for the young victims.
The pro-infancy association Eunoia, which organised the gala with the cooperation of Alfaz town hall, said there had been an exceptional public response, with cash still coming in for Row Zero, the non-existent row of seats for those unable to attend the show.
The funds raised will go to ASPANION, the regional support group for the parents of children with cancer, although the final total will not be known until later this week.
Residents and Groups councillor Martine Mertens congratulated all those who had taken part in the Gala, with particular thanks to ASPANION.
In its 30 years of existence the association had done so much to increase the life expectancy of children with cancer, Mertens said, offering emotional, economic and social support to families, helping them through the various stages of the illness.
