Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. 77.                               An American politician who served as the 47th vice president of the United States from 2009 to 2017. Biden also represented Delaware in the U.S. Senate from 1973 to 2009. A member of the Democratic Party, Biden is a candidate for president in the 2020 election, having unsuccessfully sought the Democratic presidential nomination in 1988 and in 2008.

Today is World Children’s Day:

World Children’s Day was first established in 1954 as Universal Children’s Day and is celebrated on 20 November each year to promote international togetherness, awareness among children worldwide, and improving children’s welfare.

November 20th is an important date as it is the date in 1959 when the UN General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child.

This year is extra special, marking the 30th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child
