TWELVE members of the Teulada-Moraira Fishing Club fished Section B1 of the River Jucar in extremely changeable weather. Best catch of the day went to Frank Povey with five fish weighing a total of 7.5kg. Overnight rain had reduced early morning temperatures to just above 10 degrees with a stiff downstream wind creating challenging conditions. Casting accurately to the far bank on this, one of the widest sections of the river, was particularly difficult. After two hours, the strong wind was accompanied by an hour of heavy rain which passed to reveal a clear sky and no wind at all. For the last hour the wind returned, but now blowing upstream to produce a true kaleidoscope of weather conditions. The fishing remained spasmodic and patchy, as it has been for some weeks now, with several members returning dry nets. The club, which is very friendly, is always happy to welcome new members.
