Man shot dead in Mijas on the Costa del Sol

A man has died in a Costa del Sol shooting. 

The 30-year-old ‘foreign’ man was killed in calle Orfebre in Riviera del Sol, Mijas at around 3.15 pm this afternoon (November 21). This is the higher part of the urbanisation, above the A-7 toll road.

Several people dialled the emergency number to say they had heard gunshots and that there was a man who had been shot. 

First on the scene was a Guardia Civil Patrol. They carried out resuscitation techniques until medics arrived, but the man could not be saved. 

Guardia Civil are now hunting for the killer who witnesses said sped off in a ‘high end’ car. 

This is not the first shooting on the Costa del Sol in recent weeks. Six days ago a man was killed on the Andasol urbanisation in Marbella and another critically injured. 

Last month a Bulgarian citizen was shot a dozen times, also in Marbella.
