A PLAQUE has been installed in Motril, Spain in memory of Federico Maya, in a recognition of his social and altruistic work. In an emotional ceremony attended by family, friends and members of the Council, Mayor Luisa García Chamorro paid tribute to the work carried out by Maya to patients at the Motril Dialysis Centre. Chamorro expressed that there were “very few unique and exceptional people like Federico, who made a huge impact on many lives”. Maya was born in 1949 and was diagnosed with kidney disease at the age of 45. From that moment, he dedicated his life to fighting, defending, and supporting kidney patients from the Acercoa Association that he founded. The plaque has been placed on Doctor Norman Bethune Avenue.
