BENISSA Local Police have saved a suicidal woman’s life.
Officers rushed to stop the 60-something year old woman from taking her own life after receiving a call putting out the alert that she was hanging on to a railing at her home four storeys up and intended to jump.
The two officers managed to break open the front door using a gas canister they found on the landing, then grab her and prevent the suicide attempt, keeping a good hold of her and trying to calm her down until the health services arrived.
She was taken to Denia hospital where she remains under observation and in the care of the psychiatric services.
