ELON MUSK’S ‘POST-APOCALYPIC’ CYBERTRUCK FLOP

ELON Musk, the Tesla creator, ended up with egg on his nose after his latest creation, the ‘bullet-proof’cybertruck, proved otherwise.

During the launch near Los Angeles, colleagues, in fact Tesla’s chief designer no less, lobbed a metal ball at the window of the futuristic electric vehicle, to test it. This backfired horribly after the window smashed.

Mr Musk swore but that was not the end of it as Franz von Hulzhausen proceeded to smash the rear window. That also disintegrated.

All Mr Musk could say feebly was, “It didn’t go through, that’s the plus side.”

He believes the €35,000 (that’s just for the basic model) vehicle, Tesla’s first ‘cybertruck’ is essential to sustainable energy.

It is made of cold-rolled steel, armored glass (the bit that smashed) and adaptive air suspension.

The middle version, priced at a cool €45,000 will be a dual-motor all-wheel drive, have a towing capacity of more than 10,000 pounds and be able to travel more than 300 miles on a single charge.

The third version, priced at – wait for it – €63,300 – will have three electric motors and all-wheel, a towing capacity of 14,000 pounds and battery range of more than 500 miles.

Hundreds of fans stood in line to take a two-minute ride.
