ORIHUELA council is spending €752,373 on renewing a third of its fleet of waste collection lorries.
The cash will buy two side loading and two rear loading rubbish trucks, the first new ones the council has bought since 2008.
The council says the new vehicles are much more efficient than the ones they will replace, leading to cost savings in fuel and servicing, and lower emissions of pollutants.
