TWO men are wanted by police in connection with the death of a woman who was hit by a car on Whalley Banks in Blackburn in Lancashire, England.
Detectives investigating the murder have today appealed for information to find 18-year-old Kaylib Connolly and 20-year-old Dean Qayum, who are suspected to be the central figures in the fatal hit-and-run.
The woman, who has been named by police as 36-year-old Alison McBlaine, was hit by a Fiat Punto Grande on Tuesday, November 19, which police believe deliberately mounted the pavement. A second pedestrian was also hit in the collision and suffered serious injuries.
Emergency services transferred the woman to hospital, but she sadly succumbed to her injuries two days later.
Police have reported that the car failed to stop at the scene, with the vehicle later found by officers on Lower Hollin Bank Street with significant front-end damage.
In a statement released by Detective Chief Inspector Lee Wilson from Blackpool Police Station, he revealed that “Connolly and Qayum are wanted in connection with this extremely serious offence”, adding that the young men “know police want to speak to them and I believe they are being harboured in and around the Blackburn area at this time”.
We at Euro Weekly News understand that investigators have warned that anyone who is protecting the pair also face being arrested and prosecuted.
