A WINE from Binissalem, Mallorca, Spain has been voted as one of the best sparkling wines at this year’s coveted Effervescents du Monde Awards. The Veritas Brut Nature wine from the José L. Ferrer Winery in Binissalem in central Mallorca was awarded a silver medal at the 17th edition of the international contest held in Dijon. A total of 22 countries participated in the competition that was held over three days, where expert judges evaluated 564 varieties. Within the silver category, which included renowned varieties of champagne and sparkling wine, the sparkling Veritas Brut Nature came in fifth position. The Effervescents du Monde Awards is an event which is distinguished for its scope, method and ambition and this year saw the highest concentration of sparkling wines from a wide geographical diversity.
