Diabetes awareness from Costa del Sol based La Cala de Mijas Lions

Dancing against diabetes in La Cala de Mijas

THE La Cala Lions Diabetic Support Group is working hard on of everyone who suffers from Diabetes and especially wants to make everybody aware of the dangers of this potentially silent killer.

As previously reported during November to celebrate World Diabetic Day they were busy glucose testing over 500 people across the Mijas area. Then the following Sunday in collaboration with the Mijas Foreign Residents and Sports Departments, they invited everyone to Walk for Diabetes Awareness.

There was Zumba, Dancercise and Costa Soul singers entertaining the participants – some with babies and dogs – all walking on a very sunny day through La Cala de Mijas and back along the Boardwalk.

For more information about the assistance available email annediabetics@gmail.com or call 607 879 450 and don’t forget the Lions Christmas Fayre this Saturday, November 30 which is being held at Treetops Restaurant, El Chaparral Golf.
