A SERIES of attacks on animals in the New Forest, England are being investigated by the police.
Between November 16 and 20, three calves have been found with stab wounds in Linwood, while two sheep were fatally slashed and marked with pentagrams in Bramshaw.
We at Euro Weekly News understand that local residents are concerned that a Satanic-type cult could be to blame for the alarming attacks, with Hampshire Police trying to establish whether the incidents are linked.
Sergeant Andy Williams of Hampshire Constabulary’s Country Watch team has released a statement about the spate of worrying incidents, stating that “they are unusual in the New Forest and we are looking at the circumstances of each one to see if they are linked, and to see how these animals came to be injured.” He also asked “anyone who uses the New Forest, including commoners, to be vigilant”.
Animal charity RSPCA said: “We are very concerned about how these animals died so would urge anyone with information to contact police who are investigating.”
The New Forest covers an area of more than 220 square miles of southwest Hampshire. Farmers and residents have maintained a tradition which allows livestock to roam free in the forest, which they are entitled to do under common rights dating back to the 13th-century.
