UK weather alert as Storm Sebastien set to hit
THE UK is bracing itself for Storm Sebastien tomorrow, which is set to bring 50mph gales, a month’s rain and 22ft waves.
The storm system is heading directly for the UK, after the US National Hurricane Centre (NHC) confirmed it had suddenly intensified in strength.
The Met office has issued a storm warning as the weather front is spinning north from the Azores and is intensifying in strength. It is set to hit the south coast by Tuesday night.
Already flood-ravaged areas face yet more heavy rain over the next five days.
The storm system is heading directly for the UK, after the US National Hurricane Centre (NHC) confirmed it had suddenly intensified in strength instead of dissipating.
This will be the Atlantic’s 18th named storm of 2019.
The Met Office has warned that by midweek, the East Midlands and South Yorkshire should expect another deluge.M
