THE City Council of Motril has renewed its agreement with the Official Association of Surveyors and Architects of Granada (COAATGR) which will keep an office for the council’s use in the College. Mayor Luisa García Chamorro and Miguel Manuel Castillo Martínez, President of the COAATGR, signed the agreement on November 22, which details that the office, based on Calle Galicia, will be open to Motril residents every Tuesday from 12pm to 2pm. Chamorro thanked the College for its collaboration with the City Council, which “will make life easier for Motrileños and bring private administration to citizens so that they do not have to travel to Granada.” Antonio Escámez, the Deputy Mayor of Urbanism, praised the mutual trust between the City Council and the Association of Surveyors, which he believes will be beneficial for both parties. Martínez expressed his gratitude to the Council for the cession of the space, which serves as a “information meeting point for members and a service to the community as a professional school”. Under the agreement, the association will carry out several activities at no cost to the City Council, including drafting urban planning ordinances, training of municipal workers and workshops about new regulations, among others.
