A SURGE of patients to emergencies at Malaga’s Hospital Regional in Spain saw the service over run on with some waiting five days for a bed, according to trade union sources.
A UGT statement said they had one 80-year-old heart attack victim who they were forced to treat in an arm chair due to the lack of space, while the waiting and consulting rooms were overcrowded.
Health service bosses say falling temperatures and rain has led to a spike in viral infections leading to the influx of patients.
