THE Guardia Civil have carried out the second phase of a large scale drug trafficking operation this morning (November 28) at properties across Mallorca, Spain.
As reported by the police, dozens of officers conducted searches on 20 homes at dawn, arresting 12 people as part of their ‘Crótalo’ operation.
The first phase of the ‘Crótalo’ operation ended in August, with 16 individuals from a criminal crime gang arrested in Mallorca, Madrid, and Barcelona, where officers seized over 90 kilos of cocaine. The group were responsible for trafficking huge amounts of narcotics by boats from Spain into the Balearic Islands.
The gang supplied drugs to dealers throughout the island and had contacts in Colombia who provided them high purity cocaine that was cut down at a laboratory at a property in Lloseta.
