SON ESPASES HOSPITAL in Mallorca, Spain, has ranked as the 48th most reputable public hospital in Spain.
The ranking was determined through the 6th edition of the Health Reputation Monitor (MRS), an independent evaluation of the Spanish health system, which highlights the best private and public hospitals with the best reputation in the country.
Endorsed by the Institute of Analysis and Research, the list is compiled by Merco, a Corporate Reputation Managerial Monitor, alongside a reported 5,000 experts in the field, including doctors, nurses, health associations, patients, managers and health journalists.
100 hospitals appear in the list of the best public hospitals in Spain, while the private list is reduced to 50.
This year’s ranking is an improvement from last year for Son Espases, which in 2018 placed the hospital in 66th position.
Son Llàtzer Hospital achieved unsatisfactory results, ranking in 93rd position, falling five places from last year. This was due to its poor results in regards to economic management, patient care and communication at the hospital.
The list of the top 5 public hospitals is dominated by clinics based in Madrid and Barcelona, with the number one spot going to University Hospital La Paz in Madrid.
