THE Levante Council of the International Navy League of the United States welcomed 72 members and guests to their annual Thanksgiving lunch at a restaurant in Alcalali. Council founder member and former council president Beverly Stewart gave a very amusing Thanksgiving address, which was received with appreciative applause. Peter Langley, also a past president of the council, delivered an appropriate Grace before everyone tucked into a superb feast of beautifully oven-roasted large turkeys with all the delicious trimmings provided by the ever-dependable kitchen staff. The excellent food and camaraderie setting the scene for an enjoyable occasion. The council’s next event is a Christmas lunch on Saturday December 14. New members of any nationality are welcomed.
