A MAN has been arrested after he crashed his car into the Imperial Canal of Aragon in Zaragoza, Spain, after fleeing from the police.
The incident occurred in the early hours of this morning (December 1), after officers from the Local Police attempted to stop a car that was driving erratically around Paseo de Ruiseñores. Failing to stop at the scene, the driver sped away and mounted a curb, losing control of his vehicle which overturned into the canal.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, with firefighters removing the man from his vehicle. As Euro Weekly News understands, the driver did not suffer from any serious injuries.
Officers then conducted a breath-test on the man who they suspected had consumed a great deal of alcohol, where he was found to be over the legal limit. The man was subsequently arrested and charged with drunk driving and reckless driving.
