Still thinking pink in Javea, Costa Blanca!

The Pink Recycle Glass for “Them” containers will remain in Javea.
The “Them” referred to are women with breast cancer and Kika Mata, the town hall’s services councillor, explained that the recycling firm Ecovidrio has agreed that the pink recycling containers can become a permanent fixture.
The containers arrived in Javea, largely thanks to the efforts of breast cancer activist, Maria Ferrer and were originally located in the Old Quarter and the Duanes district.
They have now been moved to the Arenal neighbourhood in a strategic position that is conveniently near to numerous bars and restaurants.
The town hall also hopes that the residents will take part in the campaign, as the glass that is deposited for recycling will bring in cash that will be donated to the Sandra Ibarra Cancer Foundation, which works towards preventing the disease and funding research.
The “Recycle for Them” campaign is present in more than 60 municipalities on the Costa Blanca and throughout Spain, but it is also possible to collaborate with the same foundation by acquiring a miniature version of the pink containers designed by Agatha Ruiz de la Prada from the www.miniglu.es website.
