Almuñécar City Council awards Martín Cecilia Rivas for his commitment to the community

ALMUÑÉCAR City Council have paid tribute to Martín Cecilia Rivas, President of the Torrecuevas Residents’ Association, for his commitment to the community.
Rivas was presented with an award at a celebratory lunch held at Venta Luciano, attended by over 180 residents. On behalf of Almuñécar City Council, Alberto García Gilabert, Councillor for Culture, Festivities and Institutional Relations, thanked the Councillor for his “collaboration, participation, revitalisation and good work for Torrecuevas.”
A cheque of €1200 was also presented to the Almuñécar Local Group (AECC), money raised from the fourth edition of the Torrecuevas Trail and Hiking event which took place over the summer. During the lunch Andrés Manzano recited a monologue and children were able to enjoy a host of fun-filled activties .
A special mention was also given to five residents who have collaborated with the association and its Board of Directors, including Carmen López Joyas, Emilia Almendros González, Antonia García Alonso, Rosario Almendros González and Antonio Alonso Alonso.
Accepting his award, Rivas remarked how the lunch was filled with “a fantastic atmosphere of companionship.” Cecilia thanked all of the residents who joined the lunch and encouraged everyone to continue working together for Almuñécar.
