Early retirement appeal against Spanish court decision

THE European Court of Justice has ruled that a decision concerning the refusal to allow early retirement with pension for two people by the Superior Court of Justice of Galicia is contrary to European law.

The two people had been working in both Spain and Germany but the Spanish Social Services had not taken into account payments made towards pensions in Germany and had therefore refused to allow early retirement on full pension.

It has been referred back to the Spanish Courts for a final review.
