The scene in 1993 gave the soap its highest-ever viewing figures, as 18 million people tuned in to watch the mayhem unfold. As Beckindale lay in ruin, four characters perished: Mark Hughes, Elizabeth Pollard, Archie Brooks and Leonard Kempinski.
The episode was re run this week on classic Emmerdale on ITV 3 26 years later and the plane crash episode still saw an amazing 8 million viewers tune in to watch the drama unfold.
