A HOT air balloon caught fire after it crashed into live power lines on an industrial estate in Sallent in Barcelona, Spain.
As reported by the fire department, the incident took place on Saturday morning just after 9.30am (December 7). Thankfully none of the six occupants were seriously injured, with every individual being able to safely jump out of the basket as it moved closer to the ground.
The pilot was the only person to be taken to hospital, where the emergency services report that he suffered minor burns. When questioned about the incident, he said that he did not see the high-voltage cables, and there were no warning signs in the area.
One of the power lines that the balloon hit subsequently broke and fell to the ground, leaving some 165 household without electricity, according to Endesa. As Euro Weekly News understands, technicians restored the supply by the afternoon through connecting it to another line.
