A COURAGEOUS resident of Winfrith Newburgh didn’t think twice about tackling a group of young men who charged into a shop in the Dorset town seemingly set on raiding the store.

The actors did such a great job in portraying their roles that when the irate “shopkeeper” chased the “villains” from the store it looked just like a real robbery. So much so that a horrified bystander didn’t think twice about getting involved and try to help stop the “thugs”

Fortunately, the director, Rad Brown, was on hand to reassure the brave man that they were just shooting a scene for his new indie film.

A camera had been hidden in the ‘getaway’ vehicle parked outside the shop so it wasn’t really visible to the general public.

One of the actors, Mr Capel, who appeared as an actor in Broadchurch stated, as reported by the Daily Mail, how “impressed” he was by the community spirit and the individual who didn’t think twice to see if he could be of assistance. Adding that is was “obviously a very special place to live,”

Capel, spokesman for the production company Hard Road Films further informed that ‘due to the nature of the scenes’, the production company had pre-warned the police and approached all the households in the vicinity to let them know in advance and were overwhelmed by the hospitality and co-operation afforded to them by the local community during their stay in the village.

As Euro Weekly News has been informed, the film, Perran, is scheduled for release early next year and stars Willie Coppen
