A FOX was savaged and ripped apart by a pack of hounds despite an activist’s efforts to protect it against the illegal killing.

According to the Independent, the incident, which was filmed, took place shortly after the Quorn Hunt had just set out on their chase from Nether Broughton, Leics., at 11.30am yesterday (Monday)

The harrowing footage shows crazed hounds ripping apart the fox despite the activist lying on the fox attempting to save it.

Hundreds of people condemned the Quorn Hunt when the video was posted online.

The hunt had just set out on a regular outing from Nether Broughton, Leicestershire, when the fox was attacked.

Images then show the activist cradling the dead fox in her arms as members of the prestigious hunt ride away.

The kill coincided with new figures which indicate that since the first hunt meet of the season in late October there have been 126 witness reports of suspected illegal fox hunting.

Of the 126 reports, six were verified fox kills and two related to suspected fox kills.

A spokesperson for Nottingham Hunt Saboteurs who filmed the Quorn hounds kill tweeted the incident after, stating how sickening the callousness with which they hunters dealt with the chase and kill, and then carry on hunting afterwards.
