KING Felipe VI will begin today at 9.30 a.m. the round of consultations with political leaders to propose a candidate for investiture.
The political parties have been summoned to the Zarzuela Palace in order for the King to propose a candidate for the President of the Government.
Don Felipe will have to pronounce himself without having the opportunity to personally know the decision of ERC, a party that on this occasion seems decisive for the candidate with the most votes.
The fact that the King is not aware of whether or not a candidate has sufficient support for his investiture is not an obstacle, as Don Felipe has previously proposed candidates who did not have sufficient support before.
The meeting will take place over two days and the King will meet with 18 leaders, after the resignation of ERC, Bildu, BNG and the CUP to go to Zarzuela.
The two day meetings will conclude with the King encounter with the acting Prime Minister and aspiring socialist, Pedro Sanchez, tomorrow (Wednesday at 18.15 hours).
It is the eighth round of consultations that Felipe VI has had in the five and a half years he has been on the throne, while his father, Juan Carlos I, only called for ten during his 38 years of reign.
